Use of effect spray

18.02.2016

As the very name suggests, applying effect sprays gives an object the effect of being made from a natural material. This way, you can achieve the effect of: gold, copper, chrome, granite, anthracite, and even fluorescence. You can apply it on wood, metal, ceramics, glass, stone, cardboard, and paintable polystyrene.  Taking into consideration that these sprays only give effect and not protection, it is advisable to apply a layer of clear lacquer before spraying.

Before applying, make sure that the surface is clean and dry. After that, spray on a layer of primer onto the surface which you wish to paint, and wait 60 minutes to dry. Shake the container for 2 minutes before applying the effect spray. From the distance of 25-30cm, apply several layers of the spray. The drying time depends on the temperature and humidity of the room you are painting in, as well as the thickness of the layer you are spraying on. In most cases, the surface will be dry after 15 minutes. One 400ml spray-can should be enough to cover a surface 1.25m2 to 1.75m2 large.
