Contemporary living conditions impose environment protection and energy saving as priorities in our every activity. Consequently, last few years, LED light bulbs are becoming more and more popular. Read more to see how they work and why you should use them.

Term LED is an acronym of words Light Emitting Diode. Every LED bulb is made of solid material which we call semiconductor. When the current passes through semiconductor, its atoms emit energy in the form of light visible to us. What are the benefits of LED light bulbs?

  1. Energy saving - they spend up to 90% less energy compared to conventional bulbs;
  2. Colours - only sunlight can show the colour with 100% accuracy. LED light hits above 83%;
  3. No stroboscopic effect - which means that they don't flicker as traditional bulbs, so they are suitable for all kinds of rooms;
  4. Very short warm up time -  they light up very quickly, so you don't have to wait for a few seconds like with traditional bulbs;
  5. Environment friendly - they are mercury-free, which means they are healthier for humans and the environment;
  6. Longer lifetime - up to 25.000 working hours. It means they can last up to 10 years if used in ordinary way. For comparison, traditional bulbs are rated at 1.000 and fluorescent at 6.000 working hours;
  7. Not producing heat - they convert all energy to light only;
  8. Various shapes and sizes - LED bulbs are suitable for all kinds of lamps, ceiling fixtures etc.
