Pellet Sparrow

06.10.2015

Pellet is a bio-fuel of high energy value, which is made by pressing shavings and sawdust of dry, high-calorie wood. During pressing process no conective substances are used.

Pellet is considered to be the fuel of the future. As a pure product of biomass, it is CO2-neutral, so it use does not contribute to the greenhouse effect.

Our company has recently become the authorized importer of Sparrow pellet. This pellet is made of beech (70%) and softwood (30%) and thus posesses great features:

  • diameter: fi 5,90-6,10 mm
  • length: L = 3,15-40 mm (approx. 99%)
  • sieve analysis: 0,26% <3,15 mm
  • total moisture: 6,1%
  • unit density: 636 kg / m³
  • ashes: 0,84%
  • volatile substances: 72,26%
  • net calorific value: 17,3 MJ/kg
  • additives: 0%

One ton of beech pellet "Sparrow" is equivalent to 500 l of heating oil, 450 kg of propane-butane, 600 m³ of natural gas or 5,000 kWh of electricity. Maximum energy utilization - around 98% - and low ash residue after combustion - between 0,5- 1% - indicates great economic viability of pellet as a fuel for heating!

Magnificent, isn't it?
